Herel Hughes is an Irish-American journalist based in Taiwan and available for global assignments. Her work can be found in publications such as Al Jazeera, CNN, TaiwanPlus, and TimeOut Magazine.
Herel has years of field experience in humanitarian aid and sustainable development with the Peace Corps, International Rescue Committee, and the United Nations. She has certificates in Hostile Environment and First Aid (HEFAT), Ethical Storytelling, Crisis Reporting, and Covering Riots and Civil Unrest.
Herel has travelled across six continents, lived in nine countries, and speaks four languages. She is currently searching out stories focused on gender, human rights, sustainable development, and conflict.
